March is World Blogging Month
(WoBloMo)
- What to do
- Publish at least one blog post
every other day from March 1 to March 31. If you do, you
win. If you don't, you don't.
- When to do it
- Every odd day of March:
March 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th, 11th, 13th, 15th, 17th, 19th, 21st,
23rd, 25th, 27th, 29th, and 31st.
- Why?
- Because perfect is the enemy of good
and nothing ensures imperfection like an arbitrary deadline. To muzzle
your inner critic long enough for you to say 80% of what
you wanted to say.
- Why March?
- December and March are two of
the most popular months for web surfing. While December is fueled
mainly by holiday shopping, March may be fueled by cold people
reading making it an ideal time for writing.
- Is this too easy?
- It's not as gruelingly
impossible as NaNoWriMo, but
it's not trivial either if you take it seriously.
- What else?
- Tag your posts 'woblomo' to be
counted and to excuse yourself.
- Is this the same idea as
NaBloPoMo?
- Almost. National Blog Posting Month
(NaBloPoMo) is 1.9375 times harder and not confined to a specific
month. It's also a vibrant social network worth joining.
